Individuals, couples, and families often face stress during a time of change or transition. Some situations that result in feelings of anxiety and hopelessness are death, diagnosis of a life-limiting illness, being the caregiver for someone with a chronic illness, end-of-life issues, a frightening or traumatic experience, separation and divorce, loss of a job, relocation, a frightening or traumatic experience, or a family conflict.
